In early April, the upgraded Base-native WELL token was launched, enabling the community to vote and stake directly on Base.

To kick off Moonwell's support for native WELL on Base, we’re excited to announce the launch of the Based Voter NFT campaign. Users who successfully mint the Based Voter NFT will be entered into a drawing. After one month, 20 winners will be rewarded with $100 USDC each.

How to Mint the Based Voter NFT

Vote on at least one onchain proposal before May 10th, 2024 with native WELL on Base. Galxe will be updated with eligible minting addresses after the end of each voting period. After you vote, it will not immediately be reflected in Galxe.

Users can only vote if they delegate their tokens prior to a proposal going live. Staking automatically delegates to the staker's address.

How to Upgrade WELL

The in-app Migration Wizard enables users to upgrade their existing WELL on Base to Native WELL. To support the community during this transition, Moonwell is subsidizing gas fees for each user’s first upgrade. For a comprehensive guide on how to use the Migration Wizard, please refer to the WELL migration section of the Moonwell Docs.

Please note that gas fee subsidization is limited to one upgrade/migration per user, and only those with supplied assets on Moonwell will be eligible.

Transferring WELL between Networks

To transfer WELL tokens between Moonbeam and Base, Moonwell now features an in-app transfer tool. This allows users to easily switch between networks without the need to visit external bridging sites. WELL Staking on Base

A new Safety Module has been deployed on Base, enabling WELL staking and providing an additional opportunity for token holders to earn rewards. Staking rewards were activated following the passage of Solidity Labs' MIP-B16 proposal. Learn more about the Safety Module and how to stake your WELL tokens here.
